LEICA Camera announced the following....

Dear Friends of Leica Sport Optics,

We can now reveal the secret of the latest Leica innovation in laser rangefinding. Leica premieres at the Shot Show in Las Vegas the revolution of range finding binoculars - the new Geovid HD-B. At the same time, Leica also presents the new Rangemaster CRF 1000-R featuring an easy to use ballistic calculator.

Your Leica Sport Optics Team hopes
you enjoy discovering the latest Leica products.

Geovid HD-B
The revolution in range finding

The Leica Geovid HD-B features the most innovative ballistic program available on the market. It allows the import of custom ballistic data via microSD card for the highest precision in calculating the correction of the point of impact. In addition it will provide the relevant information in three different output formats for three different hunting applications (holdover values for standard reticles; click values for bullet drop compensators, equivalent horizontal distance for ballistic reticles). Besides the ballistic functionality it features outstanding ergonomics, extraordinary design, high speed measurements (0,3s) and brilliant optics with a very high light transmission.

Rangemaster CRF 1000-R
Easy to use, precise and reliable

The Rangemaster CRF 1000-R calculates automatically, based on the linear distance and the angle, the equivalent distance that the projectile would travel when fired horizontally (equivalent horizontal distance). The Rangemaster CRF 1000-R is therefore ideally suited for hunting in mountainous terrain. Its ultimate precision combined with the basic ballistic functionality, the ease of use and the brilliant, outstanding optics make it the most precise, lightweight and compact rangefinder on the market, only surpassed by Leicas top compact rangefinder product, the CRF 1600-B.

The Geovid HD-B in three Leica Sport Optics films
Experienced hunters demonstrate the advantages of the new rangefinding binoculars

The Geovid HD-B offers three different output formats for three different hunting applications. Three hunters show the situations in which holdover correction, click adjustment or equivalent horizontal distance are most appropriate. It makes no difference whether the hunter uses a bullet drop compensator, a ballistic reticle or a standard hunting reticle like the 4a: the Geovid HD-B always offers the right information at the right time to guarantee accurate and perfectly placed inclined, long range shots. The passionate hunters shown in our films put the rangefinding binoculars through their paces in Europe and the USA. The films will be posted as a series.
