Thank god he is an the minority, otherwise we would have witnessed Leica's demise a long time ago. It was this overly conservative thinking which almost brought Leica to its knees. Thankfully, more progressive thinking prevailed and Leica is doing better than ever before.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1320126156594375642.post-46507981671670343742015-05-01T09:51:08.662-05:002015-05-01T09:51:08.662-05:00I don't understand this-stuck-in-the-past thin...I don't understand this-stuck-in-the-past thinking. I think you are right, some film photographers seem to feel threatened by digital photography, yet nobody is forcing them to go digital. And instead of claiming that Leicas have gone downhill ever since the M3, what about applauding Leica for still making film cameras? I have no problem with using film, but to make it sound like every digital photographer is demented, that I object to. I wonder if this poster still drives a Ford Model T? How will you be able to use your camera 20 years from now when film will be available only in very limited varieties, if at all. I am not worried about the longevity of my digital equipment at all. My oldest digital camera is over 10 years old and it still works perfectly and has done so without any flaws at all. My work is stored on a variety of digital media and the files are renewed on a regular basis to prevent any deterioration. As new filing systems become available, I am including those as well. So, yes, my work will still be available 50 years from now. I would also like to know why you think that Leicas have been going downhill ever since the M3. What's wrong with sepia toning or other modifications? Photographers have been using those ever since the beginning of photography. What's wrong with focus peaking? You are using a rangefinder instead of guessing at your focusing, or am I wrong? Leica already made the best instrument for black and white photography 50 years ago...and its been going downhill ever since... Focus Peaking? Built in Sepia Tones? thats all crap that gets in the way. I'd rather see a good print from a shitty negative of a fantastic moment, then any picture some dentist is going to shoot with this camera and his noctalux at one of Thorsten's "workshops"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1320126156594375642.post-50116592067134932682015-04-30T13:24:00.292-05:002015-04-30T13:24:00.292-05:00Yes. Considering the performance of the M Monochr...Yes. Considering the performance of the M Monochrome, this should be by far the best performing instrument for black and white digital photography. I suspect it will run circles around just about any film currently available.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1320126156594375642.post-26744627564310110192015-04-30T13:22:07.465-05:002015-04-30T13:22:07.465-05:00Looks like, besides some improvements, this is ess...Looks like, besides some improvements, this is essentially a Leica M240 with a black and white only CMOS sensor.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1320126156594375642.post-9565538143052275572015-04-30T11:02:27.925-05:002015-04-30T11:02:27.925-05:00James R.
