Leica D-Lux solid gray
The Leica D-Lux solid gray, a
two-tone alternative to the current standard model, will be available from the
end of November 2015. In this new styling concept, the lens and control
elements are now in silver. In combination with the grey-enameled body, this
lends the Leica D-Lux solid gray a new, sophisticated and immediately recognizable
look that transforms the camera into an elegant companion for capturing unique
moments in pictures of impressive quality.
The technical specifications
of the Leica D-Lux solid gray are identical to those of the standard model and
impress with the same extensive range of features, versatile functions and an
intuitive handling concept. In addition to the Leica D-Lux solid gray, the set
also includes a Leica CF D flash in silver finish and a specially made camera
carrying strap colour-matched to the new styling concept. The painstakingly
finished carrying strap in genuine leather features exclusive Leica embossing.
Its broad form and non-slip lining ensure particular comfort when carrying the
camera.
In addition, Leica also announced
a number of new products as a new, sub-brand, called 0.95. Here are the first
products of this new line:
Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH. "Edition
0.95"
With resolving powers that
exceed those of the human eye, the Leica Noctilux-M stands alone as the world’s
fastest aspherical lens for 35 mm photography. At maximum aperture, the
extremely shallow depth of field enables exposures of unrivaled aesthetic
quality with a unique bokeh. This exclusive special edition, limited to only 95
lenses, is technically identical to the serial lens and also sets the focus on
its exceptional speed in terms of design: the “0.95” engraving stands out in
white and all other engravings are muted with a matte-black anodized finish.
Particularly striking features are the knurling that reflects the iconic design
of the “S.T. Dupont for 0.95” pen collection and the distinctively placed
glossy elements on the lens body and front cap. This is the first time that a
glossy anodized finish – until now, used only for moving surfaces inside a lens
– has been employed as a design element. Each lens of the edition is

This is ridiculous. What's next, thousand dollar handbags?
ReplyDeleteWhy is this ridiculous? Nobody is forcing you to buy any of these accessories. But anyone that does, puts extra money into Leica's pocket, money that can be used to develop new cameras and lenses. What's wrong with that?
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with that at all. Comments like the one above usually come from the Leica haters or individuals who are incapable to appreciate the finer things in life. They probably consider a Bic pen just as good as the new 0.95 writing instruments from Leica.
