As good as the Leica M
view/rangefinder is, at times a more accurate means of viewing the viewfinder
image might be advantageous. In my
experience this has definite been the case when doing architectural photography
while viewing the display screen in back of the camera. This can also be the case with close up
photography and when using long telephoto lenses. But the viewfinder screen is relatively
small, especially for critical focusing.
A magnifier offers a lot of help in this regard.
For that reason,German
camera accessory manufacturer Kaiser is offering their Displaylupe, designed to
give a magnified view of the display screen of digital cameras. Two elastic cords easily attach the magnifier
to any camera, including Leica cameras.
It can also be carried with a neck strap and used without attaching it
to the camera. The optics consists of
two lens elements in two groups and is made of high quality optical glass with anti-reflective
coatings. The magnifier offers two times
magnification and a diopter correction from -5 to +3. It can be used with digital displays with a
diagonal size up to 3.2 inch.

No, I haven't. However, I am quite familiar with using a magnifier when using a view camera. This is essentially the same with the added advantage of the magnifier being able to attach to the camera. I would have definitely used one when I was still doing architectural photography, if only it had been available then.
