Leica Camera AG announced
two special edition cameras exclusively for the Leica Store Frankfurt. They are the Leica M-P "Leica Gallery
Frankfurt" and the Leica T "Leica Gallery Frankfurt". Both cameras come is a grey camera housing as
a set with a lens.
The Leica M-P "Leica
Gallery Frankfurt" includes the Leica Summilux-M 1: 1.4 / 50 mm ASPH in
addition to the camera as well as a camera bag from our friends at
Oberwerth. The set of the Leica T camera comes with a Leica Vario-Elmar-T 1: 3.5-5.6 / 18-56 mm ASPH. Both sets are strictly limited to 50 pieces
and, as such, are real rarities. The
strict limitation is underlined by a special numbering on each camera accessory
shoe.
The Leica MP set comes
with the camera top cover as well as the base plate in a special paint finish in the
color "Grey". In addition, the
leatherette covering also has a grey finish.
Control elements such as the shutter speed dial, the shutter release and
the image field selector are in the same silver chrome finish as the Leica Summilux-M 1: 1.4 / 50 mm ASPH,
including a matched classic round metal lens hood.
The Leica Summilux-M 1:
1.4 / 50 mm ASPH comes in the 1959 style of its predecessor with the typical
characteristics of the focus ring with broken knurling and the finely knurled
aperture ring. The set also includes a high-quality camera bag from our friends
at Oberwerth. The brown leather bag comes with the seams in the same gray color
scheme and thus provides the ideal complement to camera equipment. The technical specifications of the camera and
lens are the same as the respective products from the series production.
The Leica T camera body is
also painted grey while the silver camera controls are as on the standard Leica
T. The lens Leica Vario-Elmar-T 1:
3.5-5.6 / 18-56 mm ASPH of this set is unchanged. In addition to the lens, this set also includes the electronic Visoflex viewfinder.

Nobody is forcing you to buy this. On the other hand, these special editions usually sell at an instant, thus making extra money for Leica which will aid further development of new cameras and lenses, something that will benefit all of us.
