Fujifilm is discontinuing all black and white film and photo paper

On April 6 Fujifilm announced the discontinuation of its popular Neopan 100 Acros film in October 2018.  The 4×5 and 8×10 versions of Neopan 100 Acros were already set to be discontinued in May 2018, but it was thought that the 35mm and 120 versions of the film would survive.  But as it turns out the rest of the Acros line won’t survive either.  We have also learned that Fujifilm’s black-and-white photo paper lines will be discontinued between October 2018 and October 2019.

  1. I thought film was making a comeback?

  2. There have been some increases in film sales, but as a whole, film is nothing more than a very small segment of photography. Obviously Fujifilm has come to the conclusion that the market is too small to further warrant manufacture of black and while film and paper products.

  3. The ‘new’ Kodak is still making film isn’t it?

    1. Yes there are, and also a number of other companies. ADOX, Rollei and Ferrania come to mind
