  1. Once again some very nice work by Leica photographers.
The first picture of the barn shows what a well performing camera the Leica CL was. Leica should make it again in a digital version. I like the small size.

  2. Yes, I think the Leica CL was, for the most part, underrated. There was also the stigma of being "made by Minolta," although that was unfounded. All CL cameras were initially delivered by Minolta to Leitz, where they underwent the same final testing procedures as all other Leica cameras. Any camera that did not perform to the Leica specified performance parameters were returned to Minolta. Even though this was never officially confirmed, it is hardly a secret that these cameras were then sold by Minolta as the Minolta CL. Also never officially confirmed is that the rejection rate reached approximately 50 percent, at which point Leica decided to let the camera come to a premature end of its existence. Plans had been to keep it on the market a lot longer.
As for a digital CL, I seriously doubt that will ever happen. Leica has a high quality, digital camera in from of the X2 which might conceivably evolve to a new version with interchangeable lenses. Then there is also the long rumored mirrorless camera Leica is thought to introduce at the Cologne Photokina at the end of this month.

    1. Only two days to go until the pre Photokina Leica presentation "Das Wesentliche" takes place on Monday. Rather than publishing rumors and speculations about the new Leica products at this point, as so many blogs are doing, I rather wait until Monday and report on what's really new. That seems to make a lot more sense to me.
