LEICA PRICE INCREASE COMING MAY 1

By Heinz Richter

It was bound to happen. Leica has no choice but to increase prices effective May 1 due to the tariffs imposed by the Trump administration. The tariffs impact a broad range of products and retail pricing across much of the lineup.

David Farkas of Leica Store Miami writes the following:

Leica Camera has announced that, effective May 1, 2025, pricing on a wide range of products will increase as a result of recently implemented tariffs. The adjustment is expected to affect much of the Leica lineup, including cameras and lenses, though exact figures have not yet been released.
Items currently in stock will remain available at current pricing through the end of April. However, products that arrive on or after May 1—including those currently on backorder or special order—will reflect the new, higher prices. With the price increase approaching, now may be the time for those considering a Leica purchase to take advantage of current pricing while inventory remains.
The pricing shift is a direct response to tariff-related cost increases. While there remains some uncertainty about how long these adjustments will remain in place, no rollback has been confirmed at this time.
