LEICA MONOPOAN 50

By Heinz Richter

Exciting news form Leica, especially for analog photographers. 100 years after the official introduction of the Leica, they introduced Leica Monopan 50, their first ever Leica film.

Here is what Leica writes:

A Homage to Analogue Black-and-White Photography

Analogue photography is a conscious choice in favour of craftsmanship, a slower pace, and trust in our own ability to capture an image. It’s a choice that can be made at any time, as in our present day, the analogue world exists alongside the digital. But the results vary – in their aesthetics and in their character. With its distinctive look, our Leica MONOPAN 50 black-and-white film recalls the early days of 35 mm photography. It takes us back to 1925, when we presented the revolutionary Leica I to the world.

36 High-Resolution Shots

Leica MONOPAN 50 boasts an ultra-fine grain and super-panchromatic sensitivity. The film can be processed in all black-and-white developers. Its ultra-high resolution produces shots with extraordinary sharpness and remarkable tonal value reproduction. The low light sensitivity of ISO 50, combined with our fast M-Lenses, makes shots with a wide aperture possible even in bright lighting conditions – for that unmistakable Leica bokeh.
