LEICA CASINO AT LEITZ PARK WETZLAR – BRUCE GILDEN –
AMERICAN MADE
Leica Camera AG has
realized a special eye catcher for its Leica Casino in the company building at
Leitz Park in Wetzlar. Temporary special large-format portraits by American
photographer Bruce Gilden are on display until 12 January 2016 in the windows
of the exterior facade.
Bruce Gilden is one of the
most polarizing photographers in America with his hard images of Street
Photographym as presented in the edition 10/2015 in his ProfiFoto portfolio. Subject of his series are
people who manage to escape life and society. Bruce Gilde’s images have a downright
brutal presence which the viewer cannot evade and which he cannot escape.
Always looking for the visible and invisible scars left by life, with these
incredibly intense and captivating views, he finds this type of person who could
not live the American dream.

Any idea how this will effect Leica? b
ReplyDeleteI don't think this will have any effect on Leica at all. The CMOSIS sensor in the Leica 240 is a special model, made exclusively for Leica. I am sure this will continue. Leica has never devulged the manufacturer of their other new sensors, like the one in the Leica Q. They have said that it is similar to the CMOSIS sensor in the Leica 240, but not the same. Maybe all their new sensors are now under one roof, ownership wise. Please note though that this is pure conjecture on my side.
DeleteHow can you be so sure that AMS will continue making that sensor?
DeleteWhy would they discontinue an item which is selling in relatively large quantities? It wouldn't make any economical sense.
