Only a few weeks are left
until the end of the LEICA Barnack Berek Blog Photography Contest. So far the entries have resulted in some
amazing photographs and we do expect more to come. As I explained at the beginning, I consider
it unfair and unproductive to have a photography contest judged by only one
person. Regardless how impartial this
person might try to be, the results will invariably be based on the likes and
dislikes of just this one individual. For
that reason we have decided on three judges, connected to photography but with
varying backgrounds. The three judges
are:
Heinz Richter
Heinz grew up in the
photography business of his father and has been connected to photography all of
his life. The photograph displayed here
is one he took together with his father in his hometown of Barntrup, Germany.
Monika Kopeć
Monika’s career has been
influenced to quite a degree by her father who was a photographer. She has a degree in art history from the
University of Minnesota.
The photograph here was made
on film, entirely without the aid of Photoshop.
Douglas Ford
Douglas is a journalist and
photographer, formerly a software development manager. His avocations are
bicycling, American Civil War history, and cocktail history.
He took this photograph for his blog "Cold Glass" which is dedicated to the art of making elaborate cocktails.
