Initial report
I am writing this as the
new Leica M10 is being introduced. Oliver Kaltner, CEO of Leica Camera AG, just officially
showed the new camera for the first time.
The camera features a new
24 MP sensor with an ISO range from 50 to 50,000. Thanks to the new Maestro II processor, the
camera allows for a fast frame rate of 5fps.
The new viewfinder has a 30% larger field of view with a magnification
of 0.73 and a 50% better eye relief.
Built in WI-FI is another new feature.
The camera is compatible with the current Visoflex electronic
viewfinder. The buttons in back of the
camera have been reduced to just 3 which give access to all relevant functions. The camera is also noticeably smaller with a
depth of only 33.7mm at the top plate. A
mechanical ISO dial is in place of the old rewind knob of the Leica M3.
The new Leica M10 will be
available worldwide as soon as tomorrow.

Couldn't they make it look even more boring...c'mon guys, its 2017...My old R5 looks edgier.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a Leica M camera. What else do you want? Don't forget that it was the M5 that was a dismal failure because it didn't look and feel like any of the other M cameras.
